I am not a Republican. I’m a Democrat but I have to admit that I find my respect was at least partially restored by the content of his concession speech. He was again the man I thought he was in 2000. I firmly believe that if he had won the nomination and election in 2000 we would be better off. Don’t get me wrong. I probably wouldn’t have voted for him and I didn’t like the tenor of his campaign in 2008 but I do believe he would have made a good president. At least as good a president as a Republican could be. 
Hopefully, some of the rancor and anger felt by his supporters will fade. And the elation of the victors will mellow and we can get down to the business of making America better. So let’s bury the hatchet and not in each others backs either. Let’s support President elect Obama and Our Country.
